16. Going from Glory to Glory

glory 2 glory

Are you concerned about the changes taking place around you? Are you afraid of where your life is headed? Well, if you belong to Christ, don’t be. His Word assures us that God changes us “from glory to glory.”

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Cor. 3:18)

We see here that the Holy Spirit is in charge of effecting changes in the lives of the children of God, and we are told, He changes us from “glory to glory.” Not from “glory to garbage.” That means, we can count on Him to move us forward, not backwards. He will always change us for the better.

And this is true, even when it does not appear to be the case. He was moving Joseph forward, even when he was sold as a slave by his brothers, lied upon by Potiphar’s wife, and falsely imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. That was his route to the palace.

He was moving Moses from glory to glory, even when he was fleeing from Egypt to live in the desert for forty years. He was actually on the way to becoming the leader and deliverer of Israel. That was his route to greatness.

And He was moving Jesus forward, even when he was being betrayed by Judas, deserted by His disciples and crucified by His enemies. He was on His way to the right hand of the Father to be Lord and to become the source of salvation for the world.

Child of God, do not be afraid of changes, or worry about where your life is headed. Just keep beholding the beauty of Jesus daily, as your righteousness, as your Savior. Then you can rest in His promise that the Holy Spirit will change you from glory to glory. And He will!

Remember, you are not moving backwards, no matter what it looks like. He is moving you forward.

Blessings,
